How to grow microgreens - step by step
1. Prepare
- Use 2 growing trays : one with holes and one closed tray for water collection.
- Fill the tray with holes with a fine substrate (coconut fiber or potting soil or mix).
- Press lightly so that the surface is even.
- Sow the microgreen seeds evenly (guidelines can be found on the product pages).
- Moisten the seeds well with a plant spray and carefully pour water over the seeds.
- Cover the tray and the seeds with another tray or something that completely seals.
- Place a heavy object on the trays and put it away in a convenient place.
2. Germination & growth
- Let the microgreens germinate for 2–4 days until the sprouts push up the tray.
- Remove the cover as soon as the seedlings emerge (they will be yellow at first, which is normal).
- Place them in a light environment and water gently with a watering can.
- From now on, water from below : pour water into the bottom tray once a day or as needed.
- Harvest the microgreens once they have reached the desired length or have formed their second leaves.
