Why choose Green Pea microgreens?

The green pea (Pisum sativum) is beloved for its firm, bright green shoots with graceful curls—also called tendrils . These microgreens have a mild, sweet flavor with a nutty undertone and a pleasant crunch.

They are not only a feast for the eyes, but also nutritious and versatile in use.

Healthy and versatile

  • Rich in vegetable proteins – good for recovery and energy
  • Contains vitamins A, C and K – supports your resistance and bones
  • Packed with antioxidants – for a healthy lifestyle
  • Perfect as a topping or snack – crunchy, fresh and decorative

Use green pea shoots in salads, wraps, stir-fries or as a nutritious snack straight from the tray.

Growing your own pea shoots – how it works

These microgreens are easy to grow with minimal supplies. No green thumb required—just a growing tray, some soil or coco coir, and water.

Step-by-step growing instructions:

  1. Soak seeds (4–12 hours)
Provide the seeds with a bath of water so that they germinate faster and more evenly.
  2. Sowing
Use a shallow growing tray (preferably with drainage) and cover the bottom with ±2 cm of soil or coconut fibre.
Sow 80–100 grams per 25×25 cm tray, or 180–200 grams per 25×50 cm tray.
Press lightly and moisten the top layer.
  3. Germination phase (2–3 days dark)
Cover with a second tray or lid and add some weight. This will help the seeds root better and grow straight up.
  4. Stretching phase (optional)
After removing the weight, leave the tray upside down for another 1–2 days for strong, longer stems.
  5. Growing under light
Place the tray in daylight or under a grow light. Water daily from below to prevent mold.
  6. Harvest (after 9–12 days)
Cut the shoots above the roots with clean scissors.
Store your microgreens in the refrigerator, preferably in a sealed container.
