Garden cress grows excellently onkitchen paper, cotton or coconut fiber– Ideal if you don't want to use soil. Moisten the substrate, sow the seeds close together, and cover lightly with foil or a transparent lid.
After 1–2 days, the first sprouts will appear; then remove the cover and place the tray in the light. Keep the substrate slightly moist daily with a plant sprayer or water from below. You can harvest within 5–7 days by cutting the sprouts just above the substrate.

BREEDING IN BRIEF

Day 1: Sowing and resting

Sprinkle the seeds evenly over the moist substrate and cover with a second tray. For the first few days, keep the seeds dark and moist, allowing them to develop strong roots and a firm base. The tray is slightly removed in the image to visualize the germination.

Day 3–4: Into the Light – Growth Begins

After a few days, the sprouts will push the lid upwards. Place the tray in the light (lamp or windowsill) and water daily. In no time, the plants will turn a vibrant green and grow upwards rapidly.

Day 7–9: Harvest & Enjoy

After a few days, the sprouts will push the lid upwards. Place the tray in the light (lamp or windowsill) and water daily. In no time, the plants will turn a vibrant green and grow upwards rapidly.

Grow it yourself!

In the dark, microgreens germinate and search for light, once they find it, they turn green and full of nutrients.
